THE RED ENVELOPE TRADITION According to the practice of Feng Shui, it is always appropriate to acknowledge the exchange of energies with a token dollar bill in a Red Envelope or multiples of 9 Red Envelopes (depending on the feng shui cures or recommendations). The reason is that the knowledge shared using Feng Shui principles is considered to be both sacred and powerful; and money is (from a ch’i perspective) very powerful. So, by placing money in a Red Envelope, we are affirming the power and integrity of the exchange of energies being shared during the course of the consultation.
